Alexander is a UK and US corporate lawyer, who advises businesses on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt finance including early-stage investment by SAFEs, advance subscription agreements (ASAs) and other convertibles.

Alexander has assisted angel syndicates, VCTs and high net worth investors with advice on substantial investment into early-stage companies. Alexander supports businesses from start-up, through investment and exit. He also regularly advises on share incentive schemes for early stage companies (EMI and unapproved options and growth shares). Alexander has assisted a number of UK clients expand or set up in the US including by "Delaware flip".

Personal Biography

Alexander is a keen rock climber, musician and traveller. If he’s not at his desk, he can be found scaling a wall or crag somewhere nearby or standing in front of an amplifier.

  • Advising Tay Therapeutics on its spin-out from University of Dundee and investment of £1.6m pre-Series A funding

  • Advising Mi:RNA on its spin-out from SRUC and seed investment

  • Advising TenBio on its spin-out from University of Dundee and investment of £1m from Tricapital

  • Advising Wellfish Diagnostics on its spin-out from University West of Scotland and investment of £1.2m from Kelvin Capital and Scottish Enterprise
