Turbo Charging High Growth Companies

We have been giving much thought to what we can do to help our client companies to accelerate their growth and are working on a number of initiatives to achieve this aim.

I was very struck by a statistic which I heard recently at a conference in London:-

“Of the top one hundred global companies started since 1975, twenty five started in California, sixteen elsewhere in America and only one in Europe”.  The company concerned is Inditex, the holding company of Zara, the ladies fashion chain.

Unless we remember how to start and build great global businesses, Europe will gradually fall behind in the great global race ahead of us this century.  How refreshing it was therefore to find out about the new Scottish Enterprise “Start Global Programme” which is a competitive programme to assist the very best of our high growth companies to achieve their ambitions.

Access to the programme is competitive and there will only be eight companies on the first programme.  However, for anyone with real global ambitions it must be worth looking at:-

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 1st April – good luck!
