At MBM we are participating in a series of “24-related” challenge to raise funds for the Samaritans, whose service is available 24 hours a day. It’s a challenging time for their services and their volunteers, who deliver the helpline, are showing incredible commitment. The volunteers have been recognised by the Government as providing a critical service, but around 30% are having to self-isolate. It’s more important than ever the Samaritans keep the service going with increased anxiety levels for many people during this unprecedented isolation.
As we pass the 20-day mark since our fundraising started, we have raised almost £4,000. £1,000 over our original target! Today also marks another milestone for one of our fundraisers, Cat MacLean the head of our Dispute Resolution Department, who has now churned out an incredible 100 custom face masks for eager donors - an excellent PPE effort. She has also been able to neatly combine the delivery of many completed face masks in the Edinburgh area with another of her challenges: cycling every day for 24 days! In the meantime, other MBMers have been taking part in many other gruelling physical challenges from 48 days of Insanity Workout to 24 Deadlifts for 24 days. Sounds painful.
