Ranked in the latest edition of the Legal 500 for Commercial Litigation, the Dispute Resolution team is noted as having “a strong reputation tor taking on cases for the little guy”. We see our role as being rather different from other lawyers: we look at the bigger picture and are focussed on solving problems in a way that helps you get back to business as quickly as possible.
About the award winning Dispute Resolution team at MBM Commercial
Team head is Cat MacLean, a former advocate (barrister) with both English and Scots Law degrees. She is the only person to have twice won the prestigious Solicitor of the Year Award at the Law Awards of Scotland, in 2012 and again in 2015, and to have been shortlisted for the award on 3 occasions. She is listed in Chambers 2017 as a notable practitioner in banking litigation, and by the Legal 500 as a leading individual in Commercial Litigation, as is associate Iain McDougall who is described as having a “sharp mind”. Both are assisted by, amongst others, Liina Tulk who was awarded Trainee of the Year in 2012 and Up and Coming Lawyer of the Year in 2015. In addition, the department was awarded Litigation Team of the Year at the recent Scott & Co Legal Awards 2016.
