Gemma graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2012, during which time she spent over a year abroad in Freiburg, Germany combining her legal studies with English language teaching to business professionals.
Gemma previously worked as an advisor at the Citizens Advice Bureau in Glasgow during the course of her University degree (when not otherwise in Germany!). During this time she came across a wide range of legal issues and was involved in social housing, private tenancy, employment, immigration and benefits cases.
After her degree but prior to working at MBM, Gemma worked as an employment advisor to the British Medical Association. In this role, Gemma advised doctors UK-wide, from students to junior doctors through to consultants, on their NHS contracts.
Over the course of her traineeship, Gemma has been involved in a wide range of corporate transactions including private equity investments, debt funding and mergers and acquisitions. Gemma has acted for a variety of clients including investor syndicates, entrepreneurs and SMEs.
In addition to her rusty German, Gemma has been attending Spanish classes for the previous two years. Gemma has also travelled extensively, particularly in Latin America, and enjoys looking for new excuses to travel there. She also likes going to the gym and writing her poetry.
