Islam is an acquisition integration advisor as well as a senior corporate lawyer. Islam splits his time between each side of his practice.

He is able to provide a full-service offering to clients seeking integration planning and implementation for their corporate acquisitions. In this service line, Islam ensures that there is seamless amalgamation of chosen target companies with minimal disruption to commercial activities. Islam's advisory services span commercial integration of the business activities (product offering, pricing strategy, etc.) as well as the operational elements that are critical for supporting the commercial entity (Finance, IT, HR, Legal, etc.).

The other side of his practice is focused on supporting clients with their commercial/corporate legal needs. Islam leverages his experience as both a private practice lawyer and in-house counsel with dual qualifications in the UK and the United States (California barred), as well as extensive experience in working in the Middle East.

Islam's recent clients include a private equity firm who were merging two separate social care housing businesses in the UK, a well-funded startup in the energy sector with the integration of three separate businesses based in the Czech Republic and the amalgamation of a digital design business headquartered in Kuala Lumpur into the existing platform of a premier management consulting firm.

Previously Islam was the Director of Integration in the New Ventures Group of McKinsey & Company and prior to that he was an Associate General Counsel in McKinsey's Legal Department for 6 years where he supported a number of regions throughout his tenure including the Middle East, UK, Sub-Saharan Africa and the United States. Islam also played roles as an investment banker at Bank of America, a qualified solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills and a business development analyst at Edison Schools.

Personal Biography

In his free time Islam attempts to keep in shape by playing football at a mediocre level and practising Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He also enjoys travelling with his family to new and exotic places and reading about history and politics.
