New faces and employee updates at MBM
- Ross Byford joined the Edinburgh team in September as a Senior Associate. Having gained seven years’ experience in the Corporate team at Burness Paull prior to joining MBM, Ross has expertise in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, group reorganisations and demergers, commercial contracts, corporate governance, venture capital and private equity investments.
- Also joining the Edinburgh Corporate team in September were Anelda Grové Dempster and Mark Milne, both as Associates. Anelda joined having spent two years as a trainee at Dentons where she assisted on investment rounds, mergers and acquisitions. She enjoys working with early-stage companies and start-ups taking companies through their journey as they reach high growth status. Mark graduated with a dual Scots and English law degree and completed his traineeship at Anderson Strathern. He deals with acquisitions and disposals, equity investments, spin-out and start-up advice, shareholder agreements, corporate restructuring and investment funds.
- Alexander Lamley, a Director in our Edinburgh Corporate team, was recently admitted to the NY Bar. Alexander began working towards his qualification in early 2019 and has made two trips to the US to sit exams, the latter trip happening when the first pandemic lockdown hit which made for an interesting journey home! With the addition of Alex is the US team, the firm now has five dual-qualified lawyers based on the ground in Edinburgh – a unique offering for clients.
- Congratulations to Cat MacLean on being nominated to the Business Banking Resolution Service SME Liaison Panel. The SME Liaison Panel consists of 10 members from across the banking/financial services, SME and legal sectors and acts as an advisory body to the BBRS, forming part of a two-way feedback loop between the BBRS and SMEs.
