Laura Donald joined the Corporate and US teams as a Director in March 2023.

Laura has spent over three decades in corporate law in the US (and now in Scotland), working on M&A transactions, equity investments, corporate governance matters and commercial agreements. She joined MBM in March 2023 and, as a member of MBM’s US team, supports businesses as they expand in the US, from initial set up to investment and subsequently to exit. She also advises local clients receiving funding from US investors. Laura recently worked on a significant M&A transaction involving the sale of one of MBM’s technology clients to a US private equity buyer. She has also advised an international venture capital fund on an early-stage investment into a US technology company.

After graduating from Stanford Law School, Laura began her career in the Silicon Valley in California, advising early stage and high-growth companies on their formation, fundraising, day-to-day running of their businesses, corporate governance and exit through an initial public offering or sale transaction, Prior to joining MBM Commercial, she spent 16 years in the Corporate Law division of NYSE listed Albertsons, rising to Group Vice President. As a former in-house counsel, Laura recognizes that companies appreciate a pragmatic, commercial approach from their external advisors and brings this perspective to her practice at MBM.

Laura recently relocated to Scotland from Idaho.
