Michelle Bush

Michelle is a US employment lawyer with 15 years of experience representing businesses. She joined MBM’s US and Employment teams in early 2023 and brings her considerable experience to MBM’s clients. Michelle has spent most of her career in the US working both at a large regional law firm representing small, mid, and large size companies and as an in-house employment lawyer for a large healthcare organization. Drawing from her time as a litigator in the US as well as the practical insight she gained while in-house, she advises UK employers, including as part of the Holistic HR service, and helps MBM’s clients who are expanding into the US market navigate the unique US employment law landscape.

During her years of US practice, Michelle developed expertise in a variety of aspects of employment law and HR issues, including advising on issues of hiring, policies and handbooks, pay practices, performance management, discrimination and whistleblowing, leave and accommodation, discipline and termination, corporate transactions, and regulatory compliance. Michelle has appeared before administrative agencies and state and federal courts in the US concerning employment disputes and provides business focused advice and training to help leaders ensure HR compliance. Michelle’s blend of experience as both a litigator as well as an in-house legal advisor gives her a unique perspective to assist clients in managing legal risk and meeting their objectives.

Personal Biography

Michelle is settling into life in Scotland after her recent move overseas from the US. She enjoys traveling, reading, walking outdoors and time with her family.
