Ross is a Director within MBM’s corporate team, advising on a wide range of corporate matters and with client experience within the high-growth investment sector.

Ross joined the firm from Burness Paull in September 2021, where he trained and subsequently spent seven years in the Corporate department. Ross has experience in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, group reorganisations and demergers, commercial contracts, corporate governance, seed, venture capital and private equity investments.

Ross has worked with a variety of clients, from those in their initial start-up stage to more established businesses, gaining experience in a broad range of transactions across different industry sectors, including technology, life sciences, food & drink, retail & leisure, energy and financial services. Ross previously spent time seconded as an investment manager within the Growth Investment transactions team at Scottish Enterprise.

Personal Biography

Ross enjoys watching or playing sport, notably football and cricket, with a season ticket to his hometown football club. Ross also enjoys travelling and cooking.

  • Advising Actimed Therapeutics, a UK based clinical stage specialty pharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovation to the treatment of cancer cachexia and other muscle wasting disorders, on its £5m Series A investment round involving leading India-based pharmaceutical company Mankind Pharma and others.

  • Advising DirectID, a UK-based, global fintech specializing in credit risk, risk analytics and predictive modelling, using bank transaction data, on its €9m investment from the Ingka Group.

  • Advising FRP Advisory, the administrators of Dawnfresh Seafoods, on the disposal of its subsidiary Dawnfresh Farming to Mowi Scotland.

  • Advising the Tri Capital Investment Syndicate on its seed investment (alongside Scottish Enterprise) in Kaly, a seaweed farming start up.

  • Advising the shareholders and management team of Origo Services, an infrastructure fintech provider to the pensions and lifetime savings industry, on its sale to private equity firm Vespa Capital.

  • Advising the shareholders and management team of Quorum Cyber, the cyber security business, on its sale to private equity firm Livingbridge.

  • Advising on the acquisition by Peacock Technology, the advanced engineering and robotic automation company, of IceRobotics, specialists in data collection and analysis for the dairy industry, and on the former’s investment from Kelvin Capital and others.

  • Advising Industrial Nature, the bio-based construction materials manufacturer, on its £2m investment from the Scottish National Investment Bank.

  • Advising Seraphim Space on its investment in Planetwatchers, a SAR-based data analytics company, as part of a Series A round totalling $11m.

  • Advising the shareholders of Hamilton Waste & Recycling, one of the leading independent providers of resource management services in Scotland, on its sale to Biffa.

  • Advising the Archangels Investment Syndicate on its investment (alongside Scottish Enterprise and the British Business Bank) in BDD Pharma, an integrated drug formulation and clinical trials company, as part of a funding round totalling £2m.
